Cleanliness, location, view from balcony.
Very uncomfortable bed, everything else was great.
The views from the room's balcony were spectacular, and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the staff people, Timothy, lugged our suitcases up the mountain to the hotel and did so with a smile and sense of humor while we walked alongside him. He was incredibly sweet and generous to have done so. Another staff person took the time to print out detailed train schedules for us -- and was also very patient and friendly.
It was logistically complicated getting to the actual hotel once in town -- more information should be given in advance on how to get from the base of the mountain (yes, mountain) to the top of the mountain where the hotel is located. There is no air conditioning -- we only stayed one night so it wasn't too much of a problem for us. There is an overhead fan.
Views from room balcony and patio
For one thing, there was absolutely no problem with the reservations. The hotel is clean.
The little garden area behind the hotel, but near our room (#14) could have been cleaned up a little more, perhaps with a chair or two, maybe a bench. Directions to the hotel could have been much better. Passes for the park bus could have been included in the price, with a time schedule for the bus. A time table for the train could have been posted in the room and available to prevent so much waiting. More restaurants and directions to them would have been helpful too.
very kind staff, good breakfast, excellent location. ang wonderful wiev from room's window.
poor bath accessories
The area is so beautiful!
Many stairs from downtown - although comes with territory.
We stayed 1 night, arriving in the evening and hiking the trails the next day. It was a perfect spot as you could drive to the hotel but easily walk down to the town. Everyone says the road down is tight but if you've driven in Sorrento it is absolutely no problem. We had asked for 24 hour parking and it was no problem. We had a room with a view and a balcony, and could take coffee up in the morning. Perhaps a bit small for 3 people but totally fine as we did not plan to spend much time inside the room anyway! The staff were excellent, letting us come in to check email & clean up a bit after hiking before getting back in the car. Very friendly & accommodating. Totally recommend, would stay here again.
The staff were friendly and very helpfull, nice and clean, lovely fresh breakfast. A steep short climb and well worth it for the views, we had a balcony with super views. If you dont fancy the steep climb there is a bus that takes you to the top in 2-3 mins. Would stay here again, better location than the street.
Only issue was fridge was loud. No big deal.
In a quiet location without street noise. Nice view of the town and sea. Staff was friendly and helpful. Covered parking was available. So happy to have a normal hair dryer!
Typical European beds, very firm. A lot of steps to walk up to hotel from the train station
The artistic design of the rooms are wonderful. Breakfast is marvelous.
The price I paid is a little bit too high.
Beautiful view of the sea, excellent buffet breakfast, loved the balcony for sitting outside in the evening when the room was warm and the ceiling fan was a lifesaver as the temp was in the 90's while we were there. Also, our 9 yr. old son was able to stay with us for no additional cost.
The room/bathroom were a little on the small side-but the balcony totally made up for it. Steep walk up to the hotel-but to be expected in Cinque Terre and it was good exercise anyway.
Very helpful hosts. Great location to walk to the sea for a swim, walk the coast line, or walk into town for dinner with a great view of the town and sea. The use of shower and parking all day on our checkout day was a real plus. Good breakfast.
Comfortable hotel, clean, more than adequate facilities, wonderful view. very helpful & obliging staff. enjoyed our stay immensly.
We arrived during the recent floods, when we got there the electric was out (in whole village, came back after 1 hour) and the trains were'nt running. The staff at the hotel were fabulous, gave us torches, facilitated checking in and helped us find our way about in the dusk. The room was a good size, huge comfortable bed and a bathroom finished to a high standard. We had a balcony overlooking the Liguran Sea and the village which was amazing. Breakfast was fantastic, best we had in Italy, good coffee and lots of choice. Free wifi in reception was a good speed.
It was on the top of a big hill - but we did know this already so did not mind!
Location, view, price, and BREAKFAST! Truly an amazing spread of breads, amazing jams, sweets, cereals, yogurt, fruit, cheese! And, we were greeted by a barrista asking what kind of coffee we would like, which was then brought to our table. Outstanding breakfast!
